Application and Lottery Information

The deadline for submitting an online application to the 2019-2020 lottery has passed. If you have already submitted your online application but have not yet completed your in-person intake meeting (a requirement to be placed in the lottery), you have until Thursday, Feb 14th at 4:00PM to do so.

If you are interested in filling out an application for the 2019-2020 school year and being placed at the bottom of the waitlist, the applications will be available online again starting Monday, Feb.18th. Please note- all applications turned in online after the Feb 8th deadline are still required to complete an in-person intake meeting in order to be placed at the bottom of the waitlist.

Natomas Charter School Lottery

Natomas Charter School regularly receives more applications than available spots, so a lottery is required by law. To be eligible for the 2019-2020 lottery, an application for the student must be submitted and all other required items must be complete no later than the February 8, 2019 deadline.

The lotteries for all academies will be held on March 6, 2019 at 5:00PM in Multi Purpose Room (MPR) of our Star Academy Campus (4004 Gloster Way, Sacramento, CA 95834)

Application Timelines

Please follow the dates below to ensure your application is submitted in a timely manner. Any applications or paperwork submitted after the deadlines will not be included in the lottery but will placed at the bottom of the waitlist.

  • Application Period: December 3, 2018 at 9AM - February 8, 2019 at 4PM

  • Required Document Submission: All documents listed above must be submitted online or in person by February 14, 2019 at 4PM to be included in the lottery.

  • Lottery for all Academies: March 6, 2019, 5:00PM at Star Academy Campus (4004 Gloster Way, Sacramento, CA 95834)

  • Acceptance Period: March 6, 2019 - March 15, 2019

    • If offered a spot through the lottery, families must accept or decline by March 15, 2019.

Verifying Preferences

Natomas Charter School conducts a three-step preference verification process. The first step occurs during your intake meeting, the second step is completed by our office staff and the final step is an email confirmation that will be sent out on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 4:00PM to all applicants who have completed the entire application process. No reply is necessary to this email if all preferences are correct. You must contact the office no later than Monday, March 4, 2019 at 4:00PM if you have any corrections to your preferences.

Checking Lottery Results

Immediately following the lottery, seated and waitlist information will be sent via email and posted in your Infosnap account. If you are offered a spot you will need to accept or decline by Friday, March 15, 2019 at 4:00PM. This deadline is extremely important so that we can properly schedule students for next year.

If you are offered a seat in multiple academies, you may only choose one spot.

Any offers not accepted by Friday, March 15, 2019 at 4:00PM may be given to the next family on the waitlist.

Waitlist Process

If your student is initially placed on the waitlist, please continue to check for updates by logging into your Infosnap account. For the first few weeks after the lottery, there will likely be significant movement on the waitlist as families accept or decline spots. Whenever you would like updated waitlist information you can login to your Infosnap account. As soon as a spot becomes available to you, the system will email you an offer email.

Waitlist information will not be posted on our website or shared over the phone due to student confidentiality.
