Job Shadow

Dear Family and Community Members,

 

Would you like to be the inspiration for young people? You can make a difference. We need You to be a Job Shadow Mentor!

Job Shadow Day is a day designed to give students a preview of the workplace to help answer the question, “Why do I have to learn this?” Leading Edge Academy students will acquire real-life skills in order to create a profession documents, interview for jobs at The Leading Edge Job Fair, and attend a day of work off-campus on Job Shadow Day.

 

Job Shadow Mentors allow student(s) to shadow their work day for a minimum of three hours. During that time, mentors chose the level of participation appropriate for students according to the job responsibilities. This can range from observation, taking notes or hands-on activities based on each particular site. Mentors cannot drive students for any reason. Parents are responsible for transporting their student to and from work.  

 

Our goal is to offer a variety of jobs for our students to make this a rich learning experience. Our hope is that you will share our vision by becoming a Job Mentor and providing a Job Shadow opportunity at your workplace.
