Back to School Details

We are so close to the first day of school.  I know many of you have questions about what will happen and when.  This email should contain everything you need to know.  I have also make this VIDEO to review everything in this email and incorporate it all into this SLIDE DECK.  Same information, three places.  I will also re-send the same exact email on Monday, just in case.

 

Here is what you need to know, in the order that you need to know it.

 

  1. Tech Survey

If you have not already completed the tech survey that we sent out last week, please do so ASAP.  This is how we will prioritize making sure that all students have technology access on the first day of school.

 

  1. Student Town Hall

This Friday, August 7th at 3:00pm we will be hosting a Student Town Hall on Zoom for Leading Edge students! By joining this Zoom meeting, you will have the chance to hear what school will be like this year and can also ask staff members any questions you might have.

  1. Schedule Pick Up

Leading Edge students from all 3 grades will be welcomed onto campus on Tuesday, August 11 to pick up schedules, instructional materials, and (possibly) devices.  While we will have back up times available, please try to have your student here in the window listed below.  They should expect to be on campus for about 15 minutes.  This is also when new students and families will get log-in and Schoology information.  Masks will be worn and physical distancing will be followed.

LAST NAMES A-H please come between 9:00 am - 10:00 am

LAST NAMES I-S please come between 10:00 am - 11:00 am

LAST NAMES T-Z please come between 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Back Up Time = Wednesday 8:30 am - 9:30 am

 

  1. New Family Meeting

In order to support our new families, teachers will host a new family info session before school starts.  This meeting will be on Tuesday, August 11, 5:30-6:30 via Google Meet .  Just click the link to join.

  1. First Day of School

Wednesday, August 12 is the first day of school for all students.  All grade levels will start the day with a grade level meeting from 10-11 a.m.  6th-Graders will have WEB orientation in the afternoon from 12:00- 2:30 p.m.  7th and 8th graders will have academic instruction to complete in the afternoon.  All details will be emailed home and to students.  We plan to use this day to have kids set up and ready to go with the normal bell schedule on Thursday.

 

  1. Family Learning Session

And finally, because we all need some tech support this year, I will host a family info night on Wednesday, August 12, 5:30-6:30 to cover navigating Schoology and the Bell Schedule.  Join via Google Meet by clicking the link.
