High School Transition

Leading Edge strives to help our 8th graders make the successful transition to the high school program of their choice.  While the responsibility for this is mainly that of parents and students, here are some additional resources that may be helpful.

High School Options Night

Sponsored by LEAP, High School Options night is a yearly event open to all students.  The evening begins with information from the NCS counseling staff on what to look for in a high school.  This is followed by an open-house style tabling session with many area schools.  Keep your eye on the calendar for this event in early November.

High School Visits and Shadow Days

Leading Edge will help to organize shadow days at PFAA, VLA, and IB/CECA programs at Inderkum High School.  All other visiting or shadow days must be arranged directly with the school.  We ask that students who will be absent from school to visit a high school program COMPLETE THIS FORM to reflect on their experiences and account for their absence.  If you wish to visit Inderkum IB or CECA programs, please see the news item on the home page for sign up form.

Transcript Packets

Leading Edge staff will assemble packets of grades, transcripts, CAASPP scores, and attendance records for all 8th graders.  These will be mailed home to all families with first-trimester report cards.  We ask that parents keep these originals and scan or copy for schools.
